Steve Hytner was born on September 28, 1959. He made his screen debut in 1990, starring in the action comedy Ski Patrol. He quickly got his first regular television role, appearing in the Disney-produced series The 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage a year later as inventor Logan “FX” Murphy. Most of his early acting credits include several guest roles, as well as a variety of films, including The Marrying Man, In the Line of Fire, The Shadow and The Prophecy.
Hytner established himself in comedy shows by becoming a regular in The Jeff Foxworthy Show in 1995, joining the show’s second and final season. In 1997, he became a regular of another sitcom, Working; he played acerbic employee Steve Hytner throughout the show’s two-year run, despite cast changes. He also got recurring roles in Roswell and on Seinfeld he played mediocre comedian Kenny Bania, who idolizes Jerry Seinfeld—and continued playing guest roles in numerous other shows.
Hytner continued to do so through the next decade, appearing in films and television shows. His television role during the time was in the comedy The Bill Engvall Show, which he joined from its premiere in 2007. He played the role of Bob Spoonerman, a podiatrist and friend of family counselor Bill Pearson (Bill Engvall). This is in addition to guest roles in shows such as Dharma & Greg, CSI, The King of Queens, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Boston Legal, Hustle and Pushing Daisies.
